Blog Tour Review & Author Video: Hope Springs (Longing for Home 2) by Sarah M. Eden

Synopsis:
All is not well in Wyoming. Katie Macauley gave up her life-long dream of returning to Ireland in order to make a home for herself in Hope Springs, but her future has never been so uncertain. The town is more divided than ever, with both the Irish and the Reds stealing property, burning buildings, and endangering lives.

Katie’s heart remains sharply divided between her love for playful Tavish and steady Joseph, a decision she feels ill-prepared to make. In the midst of the growing unrest, temperatures drop quickly, too quickly, and Irish nightmares of famine and cold resurface as the little Wyoming town struggles to beat the harsh winter.

Katie makes one sacrifice after another to keep the peace and help see her loved ones through the difficult days ahead, but will it be enough? Can the town make amends before their hatred consumes them all? And will Katie find the love she has been searching for as well as a home to call her own?

Review:
Such a great book! I was really excited to read the sequel of Longing for Home, which I also enjoyed, a book about the importance of family, stability and love. Again, the action takes place in Hope Springs, a very troubled town where people care more about their origin than their peace. The locals will need to learn a tough lesson to understand that the Irish and the Red are not that different after all.

Katie Macauley, our main character, is no longer a newcomer, but she still feels wronged in every step she takes. Despite every challenge, she manages to rise above the expectations and to surprise everyone with her cleverness, her working capacity and her light. Her determination to help those who need her aid is impressive and moving, Katie becoming a great role model, someone we should look up to. I wish I could listen to her beautiful music and to talk at least once with her, because she motivates me to be better and she is my favorite.

After spending so much time in Hope Springs I found myself attached to all the characters and I wasn't surprised when I started crying when bad things happened to them and laughed when they were happy. Sarah M. Eden's writing is so clear and attractive, making it impossible not to enjoy her work. I am now interested to read more from her and I'm sure I will be more and more delighted.

The ending was perfect, because I think it was so well-chosen. I'm not going to tell you who is the lucky man for Katie, but I am happy he completes her in every way. Both Tavish and Joseph are excellent men and they deserve all the best in the world, but unfortunately only one can win Katie. Their love was important to show her how precious she is and it helped her to reevaluate herself.

I recommend these two books to all of you, especially those who loves historical fiction and a good romance, who want to cry and laugh with the characters, to lean valuable lessons and to be part of a difficult, but special town.

5 out of 5 butterflies.
